"When is your fetus due?"

"before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee."
JEREMIAH 1:5

Years ago, people generally believed that God was Creator, and, therefore, God set the rules. Consequently, abortion was wrong, based upon what the Bible said. However, that foundation in society has been slowly eroded and replaced with another foundation; evolution.

This foundation teaches people that they're just animals in the struggle for survival as life has evolved over millions of years. Therefore, what develops in a woman's womb is only an animal.

It's interesting to note that the increase in the rate of abortion has gone hand in hand with the increasing popularity of evolution.

You see, evolutionists used to believe that when an embryo develops in its mother's womb, it goes through all the evolutionary stages, such as a tadpole, a fish stage (with gill slits!), then it becomes an amphibian, and then on to the reptile stage, and so it goes on.

Now we know that as a human embryo develops, it does go through a stage where it has some pouches, but these pouches are not gill slits or anything like that. In fact, they form into such things as the tonsils, the middle ear canals, and the special glands that form part of our immune system.

The sad part of all of this is that many women thought that when they were aborting their baby, they were actually aborting an animal. This false evolutionary teaching has had disastrous effects on our culture.

A fertilized egg is an individual right from conception, as the Bible teaches. As any biologist should know, the fertilized egg develops in the mother's womb seperately from the mother, but relying on the mother's blood supply for nourishment and so on.

When a woman is expecting, we don't say, "When is your fetus due?" Rather, we say, "When is your baby due?"

Good post. I like how you pick up verses in the Old Testament that are very applicable yet I don't usually focus on them. As technology gets better and better, it becomes increasingly obvious that the "tadpole" women decide to kill is a human.

Zac,
The theory that a baby goes through all the "evolutionary stages" is ludicrous. It doesn’t even make sense. I think wishful thinking and a too wide imagination had something to do with that idea. It is a very good thing that science and technology has developed enough to disprove that. I am enjoying your posts!
